Latest Forecast
Tonight, clouds will increase and colder temperatures enter the region, and that will set the stage for a significant winter storm late Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Wednesday will turn out mostly cloudy and dry, but a wintry mix of sleet and freezing rain will overspread northern MD and southeastern PA from southwest-to-northeast Wednesday night. The freezing rain will change over to plain rain by the mid-morning hours and then taper off by midday as temperatures rise above freezing. A coating to one inch of sleet and 0.05-0.15" of ice accretion are expected. This will cause a dangerous morning commute across the region and snarl travel on both treated and untreated roads. In addition, isolated power outages are possible. A cold front will transverse the Commonwealth on Friday morning resulting in Northwesterly winds of 12-25 mph with gusts up to 30 mph resulting in cooler temperatures throughout the day.
